SCOOBY Scooby is a female golden retriever/lab cross and it believed to be about 1-2 years old. Scooby came to the NHS with her brother Jataka because her owner was not taking care of her properly. She was emaciated when she came in, but her ribs disappeared from view within a week and now she's in great shape! Scooby is very, very high energy and doesn't really have manners... at all. She is very sweet, however, and will need a home that will give her lots and lots of exercise and love to keep her intensity in check. Scooby seems okay with other dogs, however she's a little on the dominant side from time to time, so she'd probably be fine in a home with another dog depending on the nature of the other dog. Scooby has been at the NHS since June, 2008. |

SNOOPY Snoopy is a female beagle (the little kind!) and is about a year and a half old. She's very cute and sweet and was brought into the NHS because her owner could no longer care for her. She was adopted out and then brought back because she was having accidents in the house, however she does not have accidents in her run at the NHS most of the time so with patience and training she should be just fine. Snoopy seems fine with other dogs and cats. Snoopy has been back at the NHS since August, 2008. |

Oscar and Jessie *because of their ages, Oscar and Jessie are only $75 to adopt (yes - $75 for both of them!) Oscar is a male chihuahua cross and Jessie is a female Yorkie cross. Both are 9 years old and they must go to a home together. They were surrendered to the NHS because their owner was moving into the city and could not take them with her. They're very nice little dogs, however Oscar must not go to a home with another dog other than Jessie as he is snappy with other animals so far. Because of this, he should probably also not go to a home with small children. Oscar and Jessie have been at the NHS since August, 2008. |

Matrix Matrix is a 4 year old Newfy cross who was surrendered to the NHS by his owner who could not care for him properly. Matrix has a very, very bad flea allergy and spent a couple of years with a cone on his head because he was so itchy and would chew himself raw in a matter of seconds if it was taken off. As such, he lost most of the fur from his back end. He has been at the NHS for about a month now and has been treated for his flea allergy. He's had the cone off for about 3 weeks and his fur is growing back! Yay Matrix! Matrix is a very smart boy who knows lots of tricks and loves to be loved. He's very wiggly and would probably be fine in a home with kids, cats and other dogs given his gentle newfy nature. Please note: he is not newfy-sized - he is only about 60-70lbs (estimated). Matrix has been at the NHS since July, 2008. |

Copper Copper is a golden retriever/german shepherd cross and is about 4 years old. Copper is a very sweet boy who loves to play and be petted. It is unknown at this time if Copper would be good with cats or dogs, but he seems fairly gentle so it probably wouldn't be a problem. Copper has been at the NHS since August, 2008. |

Holly Holly is an australian cattle dog/border collie cross and is about 2 years old. Holly is very energetic and reportedly not good with other dogs at this time. Holly would do best in a home where she is constantly challenged, like on a working farm or somewhere she can receive some sort of intensive training, whether it be sports or herding or extreme obedience. Holly can not go to a home with small children. Holly has been at the NHS since August, 2008. |
