Anna Belle, Sara Lee, Mary Sue and Betty Lou Annabelle, along with the 3 other female rats were transferred from the Toronto Humane Society to the NHS. They are all 8 months old. They are very friendly rats who do not mind being picked up and carried around (as you can see in the photo!) They seem very well socialized and like to cuddle up together to sleep. They currently reside in a large wire cage with three levels and really seem to enjoy the space and the amount of toys to play with. These females are ony $15/each to adopt, however, because rats are social animals, they should be adopted in pairs or as a group. Lone rats will actually require more time and energy and may become depressed due to lack of company whereas paired rats will entertain themselves and generally be much happier. They have been at the NHS since April 7, 2010.

Billy Bob Billy Bob is a male black hooded rat. He came to the NHS because a homeowner found Billy Bob living under his front step. Billy Bob is very tame so it was assumed that he may have escaped from his previous home or was abandoned by his previous owners. He is currently living in the front office of the shelter in a three level cage. Billy Bob has been at the NHS since April 12, 2010. |
